If you have built or bought non-Align helicopter kits in the past, getting your hands on this kit and building it will make you realize how the others are sub par and how you've wasted all that time getting the different parts for a less-than-perfect final product. The fit and finish of the heli parts in this kit are great. The ergonomics show that Align's engineers have thought this through and improved on prior versions. Assembly is straightforward, especially aided by numerous YouTube videos and the supplied instruction manual. All parts except the battery, satellite, battery charger, and transmitter are supplied for you to complete and fly this helicopter.
The two features I especially liked are the removable aileron and pitch servo holder and the dual-arm tail rotor control. I updated the 3GX gyro's firmware to 3.1, and now take-offs are extra stable and much more assured. The canopy is also very visually pleasing.
I progressed through the flybar and the flybarless, and now fly exclusively DFC (Direct Flight Control) heads in the one year I've been flying 6-channel collective pitch helis. Once you have flown the "best" (I am not counting the Mikados and the uber-expensive and exotic helis), it's very difficult to fly the less efficient (e.g., belt-driven tails) and lower quality helis. The 450 Pro DFC Super Combo heli is very responsive, and I get at least 7.5 minutes of sport flying time (with occasional pirouettes) on a 2200 mAh 65C 3S LiPo. I usually drained approx 1,400 mAh after the 7.5 minute flight - plenty of juice to spare if you fly even longer. If you turn the main rotor with the blades attached, you immediately know the difference between this and other helis - the blades seem to want to keep turning on its own forever. This translates to better efficiency for the motor, less wear-and-tear on the motor and gears, and a more responsive heli. I find the cyclic servos (Align DS415M) to be more than adequate for my needs, with negligible and minimal "slop" or play. The servos are very smooth, especially the tail servo (DS520M).
The completed kit makes you feel as if you are flying a larger heli (like a 500 or 700); it's that stable - even in 15 mph wind speeds and flying slowly. I learned to fly pirouettes on this heli. Its tail stability and predictability emboldened me to try more and more difficult maneuvers. I think this kit will help improve your skills.
Don't waste your time and money getting sub par kits and components.
Two things I don't like about the heli:
1. ESC is difficult to fit under the battery plate; it's a tight fit.
2. The canopy is difficult to secure onto the canopy posts when you are ready to fly. You have to really stretch it towards the back of the heli and make sure your battery wires are "just so" in order for the canopy to easily fit.
Oh, look around the web. You can usually acquire this kit for around $480 shipped to you.

I will say I was somewhat surprised to find this is a kit. Quality of parts is very good, not like the clones that are out there from what I have been told. Lots of good videos on You-Tube that will help, Look up videos by Tony at [...] as they are very helpful. No air time as of yet, I think I will have the Tech at the local RC Shop do the final settings/adjustments as they are very critical and I want every opportunity to success on my first flight. I love flying Helis and this is my largest so far, been flying for 1 year. Started with a Blade CX2 and now have a Blade 120 SR with lots of hours on it.
